Just moments ago PLUS University kicked off at the University of Chicago’s Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago. A sell out crowd of more than 60 industry professionals are here to further their knowledge of the key concepts and primary disciplines of professional liability insurance. Over the next two days, attendees will explore topics including the history of professional liability; CGL insurance concepts; PL insurance concepts; financial analysis; claims; D&O; Med/PL; and EPLI. Instructors are senior industry professionals and PLUS leaders, with expertise in their various specialties. The session kicked off with Jim Stewart, RPLU, Senior Vice President – Pioneer Special Risk, who provided a history of professional liability and an overview of the industry. Jim brings vast knowledge and experience in the professional liability insurance. In fact, Jim told attendees he was PLUS member number 5 and worked closely with the original PLUS Founders.
