The PLUS Southeast Chapter hosted two events on Thursday, September 28 in Charlotte.
From 1 to 3 p.m. a group from the chapter volunteered at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. The group worked in the organization’s warehouse, sorting food for distribution in the metropolitan Charlotte area. From SE Chapter chair Kathy McHale:
We sorted an extraordinary 1,760 pounds of over the counter medicines in two hours. The items donated by Walmart and sorted by our volunteers will be sent to partner agencies in Charlotte. They will distribute the items to families in need. In addition, we donated $1,000 to Second Harvest which will enable them to purchase 7,000 pounds of food or 5,833 meals.
Later that afternoon industry professionals from the local Charlotte market and across the Southeast gathered at Fahrenheit in downtown Charlotte to network and enjoy stunning views of the city’s skyline.
Thanks to everyone who participated in these great events in North Carolina!
