The eighth annual Singapore Symposium brought members of the insurance industry together for an engaging and informative event last Wednesday, September 11. 126 professionals from across the industry gathered at the Novotel Hotel in Singapore to hear from thought-leaders from around the world in between networking with other attendees.

Nigel Gould-Davies, Associate Fellow of Chatham House, gave a keynote address on falling and rising political risks, and what the future might be for these kinds of risks. Other speakers touched on important and topical issues such as pay power, regulation, and current coverage considerations for D&O and Cyber.

The luncheon keynote was Sam McGrath, Standard Chartered Bank, who told his story of serving in the British Army as commander in the paratrooper division. Now an ultra-marathoner, McGrath engaged the audience by tying his personal life experiences into inspiring messages about leadership, focus, and fitness.

This Symposium also had congratulations in order for PLUS member Lynn Leo, Swiss Re, who was recognized for earning her RPLU designation.

Thank you to all the speakers and attendees, and a special thank you to the PLUS Singapore Committee! This was a fantastic event.
