On Wednesday, June 26, members of the Midwest Chapter volunteered to help plant flowers and landscape for Thresholds, an organization that transforms the lives of individuals suffering from mental health issues by offering housing, employment, access to medical care and other supportive services. The PLUS Foundation awarded a $6,000 grant to Thresholds to help them continue their impactful and important work.

The Southwest Chapter volunteered at Project Cure in Denver, CO on Thursday, June 6th. Project Cure is the largest provider of medical supplies and equipment to developing countries around the world. There was a group of 17 PLUS members volunteering in the warehouse where the group sorted various medical supplies, packed up boxes that were then labeled and loaded into cargo crates for shipping across the world. The Chapter gifted a PLUS Foundation grant of $1,000 to the charity to continue their important work.

On Tuesday, May 7, the North Central Chapter presented a PLUS Foundation Chapter Charity grant to Brian Peterson, Chief Financial Officer of the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans. This is the 2nd year the Chapter has nominated the organization for grant funds, and the $5,000 grant will go to veterans’ assistance for homelessness, employment, and legal support. The chapter plans to do a volunteer activity later in the year to continue supporting this great organization.
