The PLUS Conference always has top notch education opportunities, and this year was no exception. There were a multiple types of sessions with a wide variety of topics, keeping you informed about trending topics in the industry while pushing new ideas and information.
Executive Forums, our sessions geared towards senior corporate leaders, discussed topics such as the necessity of inclusion in the workplace and the current shifting role of the corporate general counsel.
Spark sessions were back at this year’s conference, and they were a huge hit. These fast-paced, 20 minute sessions hit on hot topics across the professional liability industry. There were Spark Sessions on the risks of automated technology, such as driverless cars and drones, as well as a session on the risks of social movements. From Blockchain and Bitcoin, to cannabis and opioids, to networking and service dogs, Spark sessions featured many interesting and topical subjects.
The Education Sessions at this year’s conference were incredible, as well. There were sessions on every branch of the industry, from a panel on the latest trends in Cyber Liability to a discussion of the increasingly frequent mega-verdicts in Medical Professional Liability. Some of the sessions were standing room only! We’re proud to bring you the latest information and ideas, and look forward to even more stellar education sessions next year.
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s PLUS Conference in San Diego. It was a wonderful event with great attendance from across the industry.
This year’s conference had a phenomenal line-up of keynote speakers. Our opening speaker was John Kerry, the 68th Secretary of State. Carl Metzger, who is taking over the position of PLUS President, moderated a Q&A session that delved into Kerry’s career as well as the current climate, both politically and environmentally.
The lunch keynote was Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour, America’s first African American female combat pilot. Her presence literally leapt off the stage, invigorating the audience and inspiring everyone to “Get Gutsy.” She reminded us that we have “permission to engage!” and seize opportunities in our industry.
Our final keynote address was given by Gloria Allred, founding partner of Allred, Maroko & Goldberg. Debbie Schaffel, the outgoing PLUS President, moderated a Q&A session. Gloria Allred is an incredible woman with unparalleled passion for her work, and it was a privilege to hear her speak.
The final day of the PLUS Conference has arrived all too soon. The LAMP meet-up yesterday brought together both the incoming and the current LAMP Cohorts. The current Cohort received their certificates of completion for the program and connected with the new Cohort coming in this year.
The past few days have brought fantastic education and networking opportunities with professionals from across the industry. Your conference experience isn’t over yet, however. Gloria Allred is giving her keynote address over breakfast this morning, and after her remarks there are two education sessions you can attend for any last CE/CLE credit.
