It was a beautiful day at Wampanoag Country Club for the Hartford Golf Tournament. On September 10, 2019, more than 80 golfers, sponsors and volunteers gathered to support the PLUS Foundation. The tournament expects to raise more than $2,200 for the PLUS Foundation.
Representatives from three local charities receiving the PLUS Foundation’s Chapter Charity grant awards attended the golf reception. This year’s grant recipients were:
- $2,500 Connecticut Invention Convention: Provides opportunities for students to develop critical thinking and creative problem solving skills through invention and innovation.
- $2,500 Camp Courage of the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut: Provides a camping experience for children and teens with epilepsy.
- $1,000 First Tee of Connecticut: Provides opportunities for young people that build character, instill life enhancing values such as integrity, respect, perseverance and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
