(First 100 Days) PLUS Foundation – A History of Giving Back

plus foundation logo  Yesterday I had the opportunity to listen in on the PLUS Foundation Board meeting. I was impressed by the passion and spirit of this Board. These dedicated members donate a significant amount of time and energy to achieving the mission of the PLUS Foundation.

The PLUS Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves the membership of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). It identifies, initiates, and sponsors a variety of charitable programs that give individuals and companies the opportunity to make a difference.

The PLUS Foundation provides Chapter Charity Grants to PLUS chapters to use in their area communities. It supports the Conference Cause that provides an opportunity to give back to the community in conjunction with the PLUS Conference. At the 2014 PLUS Conference, the Chapter Cause provide over $33,000 in financial support and 38 volunteers filled Thanksgiving baskets for the Sunrise Children’s Foundation. The Foundation also provides disaster relief assistance, supports the Women’s Leadership Network, and provides financial aid scholarships. Since the Foundation began in 1998, it has given back more than $2.2 million into philanthropic, diversity, and educational efforts.

I encourage you to get involved in the Foundation. You can participating in a chapter fundraiser event, volunteering your time with the Conference Cause, or attend a Women’s Leadership Network event. You also can make a donation to the Foundation to help it achieve great things and show the benevolence of the professional liability industry.

You can find out more about the PLUS Foundation, its events, sponsors, purpose and how to get involved or make a donation on its website at http://www.plusfoundation.org.

  1. PLUS’s new Executive Director @rthompson@plusweb.org comments on the great work and passion of the PLUS Foundation board. Having participate in PLUS Foundation Chapter Charity and Conference Cause events Robbie’s message to get engaged is a message I fully support.
