It was a beautifully sunny day at Wampanoag Country Club for the Hartford Golf Tournament. On September 4, 2018, more than 75 golfers, sponsors and volunteers gathered to support the PLUS Foundation. The tournament expects to raise more than $1,200 for the PLUS Foundation.
Representatives from three local charities receiving the PLUS Foundation’s Chapter Charity grant awards attended the golf reception. This year’s grant recipients were: Read to a Child, which makes mentoring and literacy opportunities available for lunchtime reading to students K-Grade 4; the Center for Children’s Advocacy, which provides attorneys to represent children who have been abused and neglected; and The First Tee of Connecticut, which offers young people educational programs that build character, instill life enhancing values and promote healthy living choices through golf.
Enjoy the photos from this event and we hope to see you at another tournament soon!

The PLUS Hartford chapter held its annual Diaper Drive, benefiting My Sister’s Place, on March 23. The chapter collected a total of 21,247 diapers and 3,156 wipes for the organization, which provides a safe and nurturing environment for homeless families. In addition to the diapers and wipes, the chapter also collected $80 in unsolicited donations for the charity!
Please note special thanks to the following people who helped either pick-up or load product in and out of cars/trucks.

To all of the PLUS Hartford Community:
I want to express my deepest gratitude for contributing and making this Diaper Drive a success. The overwhelming generosity from our insurance community was evidenced by the support you have had for this cause. Through our individual contributions in our annual March Madness Event and bulk donations collected throughout the area today we have surpassed everyone’s expectations.
The diapers that everyone unselfishly donated were able to fill three truckloads and we are not done yet. Many of you have asked what the final tally was and to be very honest I could not count them all. All the diapers are being brought to My Sister’s Place and I will share the totals when they have the final count. I estimate it at being close to 15,000 diapers!!
In addition to the diapers, PLUS Foundation has also provided a grant for $2500 to My Sister’s Place for the second year in a row.
I will continue to update you on our success as well as future opportunities as they arise. In September, we are having a participation day event at a The Hole in the Wall Camp and our annual golf tournament where the funds donated directly support the PLUS Foundation. Please check the PLUS website and our LinkedIn profile page for updates.
There are too many names to thank in this email without the fear of leaving some names off so please spread the thanks to everyone involved.
