We’d like to send a special thank you out to the Hartford Chapter, who recently held their annual Diaper Drive in support of My Sister’s Place. The Diaper Drive took place on March 21 and 29, and the Chapter was able to collect over 25,000 diapers!
My Sister’s Place is a local shelter and support organization for families who are homeless due to domestic violence, eviction, or unemployment, and serves approximately 1,200 people each year through its multiple programs. The diapers collected by this drive will go to help families in need throughout the area. On average, about 5,000-6,000 diapers are used monthly, and this drive accounts for almost half of their yearly need. Importantly, public assistance vouchers can only be used for food and not diapers or other necessities, so donating diapers is the equivalent of handing money directly to those in need.
The committee was able to secure donations from several key corporate sites including XL, Travelers, Willis Towers Watson, Insurity, AIX, Raymond Law Group, LLC, and Hanover. They hope to do even better next year!
Thank you to the Hartford Chapter for their wonderful effort in support of a good cause!
Also thanks to Wiley Rein, which also donated to the drive!
